Three parts bound in one.
Illustrated with an engraved title, two folding plates, two plates, and in-text engravings throughout.
One of the folding plates shows the genealogy of the Houses of York and Lancaster from Henry III to Henry VIII, the other side showing the Earls and Dukes of Lancaster if the House of Anjou or Plantagenet from Henry III to Henry V.
List of subscribers to the front, with names including the Prince Regent.
Half-title is present.
Collated, bound without two folding genealogical tables.
A topographical history of the city of Lancaster.
The city has a rich and long history, detailed in this volume, marked in particular by the Lancaster Roman Fort, Cathedral, Castle, and Priory Church.
By Matthew Gregson, an antiquary who is best known for this work. Upon presenting this work to the Prince Regent, Gregson was offered a knightship, which he declined.

CONDITION
In a rebacked calf binding. Externally, the original boards are rubbed. Bumping to the extremities, resulting in loss of leather. A little discolouration to the boards. Bookplate to the front paste down. Paste downs and endpapers are discoloured. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and clean, with the occasional handling mark.
