This is a Uji tea tree kokeshi doll featuring a woman in a tea-picking posture using tea tree wood, originated in Uji about 200 years ago during the late Edo period. Unfortunately, the existence of this doll has been forgotten over time. Efforts have been made since 2011 to revive it.
