- Sperry Gyro-Compass Repeater
This WWII-era Sperry Gyro-Compass Repeater, Model Mark XV, MOD.O, is a rare and historically significant navigation instrument. Manufactured by the Sperry Gyroscope Company, this design was patented on March 4, 1919, and only 50,000 units were produced, many of which were supplied to Allied forces before the war.
This piece is constructed of weighted brass and bronze and retains its original wiring for lighting. The 8-inch gimbaled compass dial features block-letter cardinal points and a 0-360-degree outer ring. The perimeter is marked with "Sperry Gyro-Compass Repeater, Patented March 4, 1919, Sperry Gyroscope Co. Inc." and the center is labeled "Mark XV MOD.O".
This unit is being sold as-is and does not include a stand, making it an excellent addition for collectors, maritime historians, or museum displays.
